Following our late night dinner, we hit the ground running again to incorporate the feedback received at yesterday’s client meeting. All of us were up well into the morning hours pushing our designs and stamina to new limits. We woke up this morning to the delicious smells of Dawn’s Daily Special – one of the few things that could motivate us to get up after our very late night. But, our hard work and sleepless night was totally worth it, as we began the day knowing we were on our way toward our final client presentation at 3:30. Each group felt they were making good progress and worked tirelessly through the morning and afternoon (fueled by tomato & bacon grilled cheeses and plenty of caffeine) to prepare for our meeting with the Radio Arte ladies. The web, poster and interior space design crews all presented their progress to our anxious and excited clients who were thrilled by the work we’d done in the last 24 hours.
Dawn commemorated our success by handing out another Camp Firebelly Pin (with shiny gold stars) to add to our growing collections – and authentic scout sashes to attach them to! We got ready for the AIGA Chicago Annual Meeting and headed downtown to the Art Institute’s Modern Wing, all 10 of us sporting our Camp Firebelly sashes. Needless to say, they were quite the conversation piece as designers and creatives from across the city asked us about our sashes and the button’s on them, as well as what we were doing at camp. All of them loved the sashes, most of them were shocked to find out we were actually sleeping, eating and showering at the Firebelly Studio. We were able to attend the event through the generosity of AIGA, and are all very thankful as it proved to be a great networking opportunity.
Awesome night downtown, now time to chill and relax, right? Not here at Camp Firebelly my friends. Having returned from our venture into the Loop, we are already back to work – as production for the poster and interior space begin tomorrow! Like the last few nights, we’ll be fueled by passion, caffeine and the occasional cookie break. The soundtrack to our work this evening will, of course, be the vocal stylings of Michael Jackson. It’s gonna be another late night here, but I’ll leave it to tomorrow’s blogger to report who among us is the best moonwalker…
Have a great night!
